John Cowie is a primary school located in Makoni district which is in Manicaland province in Zimbabwe. John Cowie is one of the top best primary schools in Makoni district, Manicaland province, Zimbabwe in terms of Academic perfomance, standards, infrastructure, environment, projects, just to mention a few.
The school is officially registered by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (MoPSE) and has been in existence for more than a century now.
The school is headed by a verteran headmaster,Sir Garikayi S Nyawo who took over the reins in 2013 deputised by Mrs Chanyau Monica who is also vibrant working together with a very objective SDA committee currently chaired by Mr Munyaradzi Manyengawana who happen to be a former John Cowie student, former John Cowie teacher and former John Cowie basket ball coach. A well motivated and competent team of teachers and non academic staff is the secret of the success of this school.
